Three teams from year 9 and 10 took part in the Newbury District Agricultural Society Design Make and Market Challenge.
Students presented their designs as part of the final’s day and Churchmead took 1st, 2nd and 3rd place!
1st place team: Agricultural Vision - their team created a reverse filtration device to use in flood areas like Wraysbury to prevent flooding fields for farmers which can lead to lower yields and loss of income (Ava Martin, Nehemy Bentil and Oliver Long).
2nd place: AquaSafe - created a water filtration system to put on locks in order to remove microplastics which contaminate the water (Ellie Wordham, Rose Wordham, Callan Dos Santos and Archie Hopkins).
3rd place: Prime Garden - created a transformer greenhouse that automatically pops up when unloaded off the lorry (Cayden Foster, Aaron Jamgotre, David Radu and Harry Brown)
